I'm officially losing my marbles. I got an HM yesterday. I think maybe I got it overnight when I was half asleep and opened it and shrugged and promptly forgot about it so I've only just noticed an already opened mail in my inbox. Yes, I'm losing my scaly mind! :D
Better go to bed now before I do anything else really dumb.

It is.

The process, like the system coming back up, is not complete. When it is and something is amiss, that is when I would ask questions. Joni and the WOTF Team will no doubt do their best to rectify any oversights.

Distractions, in my experience, while still in mid-process add to the likelihood of mishaps.

But hey, that's just me. Everyone will do what they believe they have to do.

Peace.

No emails. No phone calls. Geez. I'm one of the March 31 email/paper subs.

If the one guy got a Finalist phone call yesterday, I'm going to assume at this point that no news is bad news.

Oh! Oh! Wait! I wonder if Joni has to wait to get paper subs returned to her before she informs those writers of their standings. Yes, that must be it. That's it exactly. wotf010

Actually, I predict an HM or Semi for this story. I wrote it for another market, then found it wasn't needed yet, so tossed it in the ring. It's my Q3 story that I think has a chance

So I queried Joni earlier and learned two things:

1. she's out of the office til Friday. Sorry guys...

2. wotf057

Which is a new one for me. On to Q3!

And a big "Hang in there!" to those still awaiting results. (That does not include me, I was not in this quarter)

Nooooooo! Why, Joshua, whyyyyy??

*scoops Kitty's little body into her hands*

You know how she is. She didn't need any encouragement.

*sniff*

And with Joni gone until Friday, who's going to put out this raging fire? We're lucky the forum was empty at the time. Now I'll have to rush Kitty home and hope the chocolate revives her. Down another life. No idea how many she's used up by now, silly, crazy Kitty ...

*leaves banner up well away from the flames: Congratulations to KD on the Semi-Finalist! And to the HMs and SHMs coming in!*

Congratulations on Finalist, David, and best of success on jumping through the final portal. Tell us what the call was like with Joni. Inquiring minds--and there are a lot of them here--want to know. : )

Dancing conga rats to everyone that entered the quarter, and to all those that got nods from Dave with HMs, Silvers, Semis, and at least one Finalist. Well done!

And to the Thirty-Firsters, we still have a chance!

Now that this seems to be mostly over Congrats to all the new HMs and SHMs

HMs did two things right so SHMs did three or more.

I skimmed through the posts but easily could have missed it.

I was looking at the WOTF blog the other day and noticing just how many HMs and higher were awarded back in January, and it was close to 200. If we can take what Joni said, that HMs comprise 3-5% of submissions, doesn't that put the total submissions of that quarter around 4k?? And Q2 had even higher total submissions. Crazy.

Congrats to the finalist, semis, silvers, and HMs, and commiserations to the Rs.

Do they ever say how many entrants there actually are in this contest? Or is that part of the... mystique? wotf001

I don't think they do, but others have made estimates in line with Morshana's. Multiple thousands per quarter is likely correct.

That's all I've heard, as well. I think it is far from over, since no one who submitted on the 30th has been notified yet (as far as I know).

I've heard of another (private group). Also that they were given the all-clear to announce. I don't want to be a total downer but I'm assuming the finalists have all been notified.

Yeah, it does sound like it's over then. Seems a bit strange, though, since probably >50% of all submissions are made on the final day of the quarter.
