I'm getting antsy, and it's frustrating. I know better than to get antsy. This is invariably the longest quarter to wait for results. wotf019 This month just seems very... I don't know, very long to me--mostly for reasons that have nothing to do with writing.

I dislike January as a rule. This year, waiting on multiple queries and the WoTF story, has been excruciating. It looked like last year the first wave went out in March. I therefore have no hope, just sympathy.

I don't expect we'll hear much until probably closer towards the end of February.

Looking at last year's Q1 thread, it seems things didn't start rolling in until March. Sorry guys. I'm right there with you... wotf014

Heads up. David Farland recently posted on My Story Doctor that he's just finished thousands of rejections for a writing contest, and also why he has to reject said stories. Interesting reading. I wonder what contest he might be talking about ...

Weird though it may sound, getting results earlier tends to help me focus. It gets that worry out of the way so I can move on XD

Maybe it's residual stress from Dave's blog post, but it feels like a Thursday to me. I've spent the day refreshing my inbox and expecting an 'R'.

I really like the look of the new WOTF website. Very modern. New look for them, maybe some new results for us...?

Thursday cometh. If Dave sent those rejections to Joni he talked about over a week ago, she would have had some time to compile the emails to go out. Brace yourselves for impact!

FWIW he sends that blog out every quarter (that I've been subscribed to the emails) around the end of the judging period. I'm not sure it always indicates he's almost done.

He did mention it during one of the calls for the online classes around the same time. It wasn't 100% clear he'd finished and I don't remember exactly what he said, but I remember my takeaway was he'd finished.

Is there a term for analyzing Dave's actions and public statements as it relates to WoTF? Perhaps a specialized subset of Rejectomancy?

There should be. wotf001
