Me too! Should have waited until I heard from Peony, though. Now I'm scared.
Q3, however, is going quite well.

I thought I got back to you about your stories. Did you not get my e-mails?
Glad Q3 is going well, in any case.

I did get it. And I browsed it. I knew it needed some work but I didn't believe it was that much. Cause for hesitation.
Need to focus more. on the Try/Fail scenario(s).

Try/fail scenarios are hard. It's all hard, really. Wonderful when it comes together, though.

Re: Discussion: Q2, Volume 36
I'm in. Technically, it's the 31st in my timezone, so I've once again submitted on the last day...
Re: Discussion: Q2, Volume 36
I got in a day early, as always (though I didn't think I'd be in this quarter). I'm too much of a scaredy-cat to leave it until the last day so always treat the penultimate day as my last day. One time it actually was, as I finished my manuscript while waiting for a flight to China... :)
I didn't have to re-register this quarter, which seemed strange. It told me I already had an account set up. Weren't they reset from last quarter?

Yes, accounts are usually reset and you need to create a new account each quarter. Hopefully, you will get your confirmation email stating:
"Dear Writer,
Your story has arrived and has been entered in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest 2nd quarter 2019 contest."
And not:
Dear Writer,
"Your story has arrived and has been entered in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest 3rd quarter 2019 contest."
If it does say 3rd quarter, congratulations! You are probably the very first submission in Q3.

Re: Discussion: Q2, Volume 36
I think once you register and save your password you are able to submit. Pretty sure after the change to a new host everyone had to re-register.
That happened to me for two q's until I read the small print about the new host and re-did my stuff.
Just saying.

I didn't have to re-register this round either.
And the email response was only "Thank you for your submission!"

That one may take longer than normal because of the impending awards ceremony. I think Joni may actually send those out (yes, as a form e-mail, but I think it's her nonetheless).

Yeah. I submitted the day before the deadline, though, when they were prepping for the workshop and gala. I got the default confirmation, but I knew there would probably be a wait on Joni's response.

Heh. Joni is back on the job! The workshop takes her complete focus. I am amazed at her ability to coordinate so many details and her ability to stay on top of it during the contest week. She is definitely the right person for the immense responsibilities she has been given.

I agree, that was a great ceremony. MUCH better than their old venue. If nothing else, this place had a bar! :)
That said, I hope you won't be offended if I don't take you up on the Facebook thing.
I consider social media in general, but Facebook in particular, to be societal poison. I despise Facebook, and deleted my personal account more than a year ago. Made a separate account to keep my writer page going, but I am almost never there.
Best thing I've done in a long, LONG time for my own happiness and peace of mind. Getting away from all that useless, stupid drama was sublime, in many ways.
So I'll see you here and/or drop you an email instead. ;)
Thanks, though!
V/R,
Michael
