The real question: does Joni call finalists on the weekend?

Yes, she definitely does. I've had calls Saturday afternoons, Friday night at 8 o'clock, almost any time. She does check your time zone so I don't think she'd call you at 2 am!

Not sure 'missing out' is the right phrase. Twitching is stressful. wotf019

Sometimes I'm excited by the anticipation. I have experienced twitching in previous quarters. Though the worst was when I got a notification from another pro-market that my story was under consideration... just as I was about to head into the wilderness for over a week! For 5 days, I didn't see another person at all, but I was able to get a 4G signal on a couple of nights. The market didn't get back to me for a month in the end, so the twitching was unnecessary. It was stressful as I had no means to edit my story if they accepted and needed a quick turnaround.

I also am not twitchy at all this quarter. Despite my entry being one that got held for consideration by Diabolical Plots I don't actually expect it to win here (may not have a strong enough speculative element for this contest). But who knows what will talk to the hearts of the readers :). What I probably need to do it get back to submitting some stuff so I can re-excite my twitch nerves!

Just got my R. First non HM for me so far. But at heart I knew it wasn't right for this contest (see my previous post) so it isn't surprising.

Silver HM. In the top 50 stories out of thousands. Which makes my day.
