I literally did that in my first paragraph.

Oh crud, did I miss that when I critted you? Sorry about that.... the example came to mind because I had a bee-related incident in the novel I'm writing and was thinking about making magical mead.
WillShadbolt wrote:I haven’t reread my story since submitting it, but I’m pretty sure I used ale and beer interchangeably... oh well, there are other things in it to help establish the atmosphere, so like Dustin said, if I get rejected, I’m sure that wouldn’t be the only reason.

That said, I happened to be over on Submission Grinder and noticed a rejection report had been filed for Writers of the Future. A 132-day form rejection, posted today, 07/14. Now, it doesn't specify which quarter that's for, but I'm going to assume it's for this this one based on the number of days.

Anyone with Duotrope subscription: are there any rejections logged there?
Update:One of the entries was removed.

Either way, it is a bit disappointing, I thought it was a good submission. I wonder where I went wrong.

Good luck everyone.

Wow.
Congratulations to everyone and commiserations to anyone who is disappointed. I understand that feeling in the bottom of my soul. Keep writing, and as a dear friend recently told me, BELIEVE in yourself and your goals.
