Leah Ning, winner in WotF Volume 36, posted in Super Secrets that she will be Zoom interviewed along with David Farland and other Contest winners. I'm posting it under its own subject so you don't miss out. Winners talk about how they won. Dave talks about what he is looking for right now. These are current winners and the Contest Coordinating Judge telling you up to date intel on how to win this contest! Wars have been won by getting the latest information. Contests can be won this way as well.
Win your battle! Go learn their secrets! And support a fellow forumite. It's a win/win!
Here's Leah's post. See you on Zoom this Friday!
Hey beasties - there's an online event happening tomorrow (Sept. 18) at 5pm Mountain Time if you're interested in joining! Myself, Storm Humbert, Daniel Bitton, and Dave Farland will be chatting together with The Book Bungalow on some WotF stuff. And uh, I gotta tell you, I am VERY frightened to be basically on a panel with Dave Farland. I am not worthy! (But also I'm super excited!) It's a Zoom thing again, so here's the link to the Facebook event: https://facebook.com/events/s/david-far ... 198/?ti=as and a link to the registration for Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/registe ... Hope to see some of you there! :)

Re: DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!
Thanks for posting this, Moon! :)
Guys, this should be a good time if you're able to attend! I'm not positive what the format of this will be, so no guarantees here, but the last virtual event I did allowed you to ask questions of the presenters in chat. So IF this one allows it, you might be able to sneak in a question or two with Dave! Super cool!

Yes! They recorded it and put it on their YouTube channel if you'd like to watch: https://youtu.be/mwI-qixGYwg Dave had lots of interesting tidbits about the contest in there too!
Re: DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!
Thank you Swiftpotato! This interview answers a lot of questions I had as someone who has only submitted two stories so far. David's insights are golden.

Re: DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!
Watched the video. Great stuff!
I def need more emotion at the end. If I don't get choked up, why should anyone else?
Leah, you seem like a blast to hang out with. Wish my Q4 were better so I'd have the chance next year.
Wulf, just want to add your emotion came through on that question and it didn't get enough follow up oomph. So,
OOMPH!
Still so cool you wrote it, knew it, sent it in, got it.

Thanks, Dustin! It was nice of Dave to include me in the Zoom event with a question--it wasn't my event. Everyone in prior volumes called Mike Resnick their writer dad, and I was saddened when he voted for my story to win, but we didn't get the chance to meet. I would have loved to have been taken under his wing like I knew he had done for so many other winners. But you know what? I was thinking about it and I have a writer dad. David Farland. He's done so many things to support me since I won. So has John Goodwin. And Joni. And Gunhild Jacobs. I haven't missed out on a thing.
The Contest is real, folks. Everything they say about standing behind you and helping you launch your career is true. Win this, and you will experience it for yourself. You will not have a better publisher to help you launch your career and support you for the years to come.
As for the OOMPH, thanks for that, too, Dustin. I really did rip my just finished first draft from my wife's hands at 11:45 pm on the last day of the contest year. She was bawling. I rushed into my office, corrected her marked typos, and pushed SUBMIT at 11:56 pm. I double checked it had all gone through, and then I immediately started writing my acceptance speech. I visualized myself on the stage, holding out my hand toward the award I had been seeking for twenty-five years. And I wrote, "My precious..."
Best of success to all of you!

Dustin, glad you liked the interview! And hey, whether you get the win this year or not, I don't doubt we'll meet at some convention someday. :) I'd love to hang out with more forumites! Y'all are so cool!
