Brad R. Torgersen on Military SF, Optimism, and Storytelling

Postby Alex Kane » Thu Apr 26, 2012 3:26 pm

Over on my blog at alexjkane.com, I interviewed this formerly-unpublished-nobody you may recognize:
"An Insider's View: Brad R. Torgersen on Military Science Fiction, the Courage to Hope, and the Magic of Storytelling". Brad talks about his recent Hugo, Nebula, and Campbell nominations, some of his future projects, his philosophy of the craft, and influences ranging from Star Trek to Larry Niven, Robotech to TRON.

OK, now Brad is just trying to get under my skin...

Larry Niven is the man who taught me to love short science fiction pieces with rigorous “hard” science in them. I have read the vast majority of his books and most of his stories, and I am fortunate in that this year I am collaborating on a project with him for Arc Manor books.

Somewhere back in the back of my mind, Evil Martin is staring at his communicator and screaming "Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!"

Great interview, Brad!

Also, I threw together this poorly-made image for you and/or Martin before I realized the rest of this thread was a year old, almost. wotf001
