How to put live hyperlinks in signature?

So I notice the people like Martin have nice, pretty clickable-text hyperlinks in their signature. And after two days of futzing, I can't get mine to be anything more than just text.

So what's teh sekrit? I've tried code and I've tried the url button. I've tried making it look (and function) how I want it in a live webpage, then doing copy/paste on the code and it doesn't work.

Halp, plz? I maded u a hyprlink but sumfing eated it.

The url code should work. Perhaps you have too many lines in your sig? Then it would be ignored.

I wish I knew, Kary. I looked at your failed efforts, and I could not for the life of me see why they were failing. If I could have, I would have pointed out the answers.

Someone recently did a URL and included quotation marks. I know that fails; but you didn't do that.

Try another one, and I'll take another look at it.

In BBCode, the tag is [ url ] (without the spaces inside the brackets).

So you want [ url="http://www.zazzle.com/teamsnark*" ]Writer swag[ /url ] without spaces.

Yes. This board (annoyingly) does not use HTML encoding. In genre terms, you might say it uses a mutant zombie variant of HTML.

The equivalent is...

Writer Swag! by yours truly.

Or...

[_url_=_http://www.zazzle.com/teamsnark_]Writer Swag![_/url_] by yours truly.

Remove all the underscores, and you get the result above.
