Re: First Four-Fifty Critique Exchanges
That's the beauty of 450's. They don't have to be perfect. They can be experimental. They can be ideas or first drafts.
I'll send by e-mail in a few minutes.

Hey Dustin - I'm up for it. Send me something and I'll send you my current story in progress.

Re: First Four-Fifty Critique Exchanges
Woo-hoo, jumping in her early (for me) this quarter.
The story I was hoping to use as my Q3 just isn't cooperating. So I'm going to do a little experiment and resend a story the contest has already seen, but has been slightly reworked. It's a story that all of my readers proclaim is one of their favorites, and I still really believe in it, so...we'll see.
If you want to exchange 450s, just pm me.

Any body still swapping 450s? PM me?
Re: First Four-Fifty Critique Exchanges
I'm good to go for 450s.
My Q3 is going to be a much longer beast than I usually write, and feels different to my other stories. Plus this is me having my first go at writing specifically for the contest.
Also having feedback on the beginning might inspire me to get the thing finished!

Anyone who's still interested in an exchange, please PM me or e-mail me. I've got a few stories at the moment whose impact on people I'd like to test, so I'm game for any number of exchanges.

I'd happy to exhanged my 450 with anyone looking for feedback on their first 450. I think this is a great idea, and personally I think opening, for me, are really hard to get correct.

Re: First Four-Fifty Critique Exchanges
Okay I have a special request for my Q3 450 - would anyone be willing to read the original 450 words, and the updated version? This story was originally written for Q2, and sent off to three different markets before it got stuck for 3 months missing the Q2 deadline. Initially I loved this story but 6 months have taken their toll! I promised myself that I'd only edit the first part if needed, and I have no fresh eyes in the 'real' world to look at this at the moment.
Any takers?

I know it's late, but I'd love to. I'd also love to get someone's feedback who is not related to me or my friend for the past X amount of years.

Not to diminish the importance of the celebrations over in the Q1 thread, but I'd like to get some eyes on the story I've got planned for Q4. Anyone up for 450s?

No. I'm not done with Q3 just yet, so no one's allowed to move on to Q4.

Wait, what? You mean I'm not the center of the universe? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?

Fair enough. Sorry if I'm jumping the gun a bit, but all this excitement has me itching to move forward with this story.

I can trade a 450 word of my Q3 for your Q4, if you don't mind. But not until next week. I'm frantically trying to finish up this draft and then I'm out of town until Sunday night. So if you don't mind waiting until mid-next week for me to get back to you, I'm game.

Re: First Four-Fifty Critique Exchanges
Hey everyone! For those of you who haven't met me yet, I'm new here. I'd love if someone would look at my 450. I'm already having Mr. Baker look at it, but all the critique I can get helps, since it's my first one. I'm hoping to finish it by the 30th so I can squeeze into Q3 and get my answer back sooner, but if not Ill just put it in Q4. Any interested parties?
People assume my writing is a logical progression of words from which meaning can be derived,
but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint -
it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff.

Okay, super-duper last minute here, but...
Anybody want to look at my Q3 450?
At the last minute, I decided to submit a really old piece I've been wanting to revise for a year or two. All I need to do now is uh... go through its very short 7 pages, expand the thing by about threefold, add in a plot and antagonist and uh... Uh...
*ahem*
Anyway--I'd appreciate general comments on the opening scene. :)

Re: First Four-Fifty Critique Exchanges
I'm ready for a Q4, 450 swap if anyone else is.
Don't worry, Rebecca, I haven't forgotten about your full story, I'm just looking for a quick opinion on my Q4 opening. Need to know if I'm overwriting the sucker, or if I'm on track.
Now that I've got a start, I need to log-line this bad boy.
