Decided to ask here this time:
I can trade crits with someone but I need a person who knows something about newer slang. I have a 23 year old female MC who probably would think in phrases that are a bit newer than the ones I know. Such as there's that fist bump guy's do now. Is there something similar that girls do? Or have they picked it up even though it's a guy thing?
As I said I can do an ordinary crit in exchange. My story isn't quiet done but probably will be around five thousand words by this weekend.

Re: New slang
Slang depends on a lot more than age, keep in mind. Socio-economic status, ethnicity, and regional factors also play in.
(Also, I'm not sure writers are the best people to ask about current and popular slang. Can't speak for the rest of you, but every time someone tries to fist bump me, I just kind of blink at them and then tell them I'm too uncoordinated, or not cool enough, to do that.

ETA I just realized one of the links on that page is a "virtual pub crawl in Denmark." Ahhhhh, academia...

Thanks for the advice. My MC is as I said a young woman in her early twenties. She dresses in most of the latest styles. I decided to make this one pretty much normal, usually my Female MCs are out of the mainstream. This one isn't. At least by her dress and how she talks.
