Progressive Chunk Exchange
Progressive Chunk Exchange
As we progress through the quarter, it might be nice to swap increasingly large chunks of our stories before we get to crunch time. Does anyone have interest in doing this? I'm not sure what the best length cut offs are, but a few folks swapped first 450s and it was very helpful, I'd be open to doing an exchange of a longer length if other people are.

Re: Progressive Chunk Exchange
I'd be willing to exchange with up to three other people.
1st exchange: First 450
2nd exchange: Next 1,000 and any changes in the first 450
3rd exchange: Entire story plus changes in first 1,450
4th exchange: Full edited story.
Chunks due to participants on successive Fridays. Crits due back by Sunday night (or negotiable).
Note: I'm negotiating, here, not trying to force any rule. I'm flexible on all points.

Re: Progressive Chunk Exchange
I would be happy to provide my (admittedly amateur) insight on anything from 450 on up. I've found that critiquing is a great way to strengthen my own writing, and I like to help. I've been doing critters for a few weeks and I really enjoy it. I am not working on a Q3 story- I've got a few ideas but I really need to finish my first draft of my book before we move back to the states this summer- so this would be just for the sake of learning (for me) and helping (for you). Or we could, like critters, store up future credits for me. Whatever works.
Trying to refute entropy with words.

That seems like a good progression. It probably would work for short-mid length works. I'm in you guys are.

Re: Progressive Chunk Exchange
Sorry, that added absolutely nothing to the conversation...
I can do 1000, but more than that, I'd prefer to do a full ex.
So I'm down for 450, or 1k.
PM me if that's the most you can do.

Re: Progressive Chunk Exchange
So I'm late to the party but I'd be happy to exchange with one or two people. I prefer doing a small chunk first to see if we're a fit (1k or so) but after that I like looking over a whole story to see what worked and what didn't. My first time submitting was last quarter, so I have no stats yet.
I am part of multiple critique groups, but most of them aren't focused on SFF. I'd like to work with people who are. Anyone up for a try?

Re: Progressive Chunk Exchange
Hello, I know this is a bit late, but I only recently discovered the forums for Writers of the Future (I only submitted for the first time recently as well). I'd love to take part in a Critique Exchange. I'm in another writing group so I'm familiar with the critique process, but we meet infrequently. I'm a teacher so I have plenty of time to write and critique this summer! Is anyone still interested?

Re: Progressive Chunk Exchange
I think I had a false start on getting one of these going.
Is anyone out there still interested in a story exchange, progressive or otherwise? My recent HM has left me realizing that I desperately need to get my stories peer reviewed before sending as my beta readers apparently just "like my stuff".
