Whats a good number of pages to have in one full chapter?

Postby Williamhawk » Wed Sep 20, 2017 4:42 am

in some manga the chapter is only 11 pages long, in some webcomics its almost 50 pages long.
whats a good stopping point for pages? or whats a good Story turn to end the chapter at?

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

The answer to everything in writing is . . . it depends! lol

Scenes tend to have a natural ending, so a good place to end a chapter would be at the point where the scene breaks, typically when things go horribly wrong, or the hero decides on a new goal.

You could also end a chapter at a point of high tension; a cliff-hanger, so to speak.

The whole purpose of chapter breaks is to lead your readers into the next scene, so you can always be kind of strategic about where to place them.

Hope that helps!
