Twitter Links

General topic for discussing writing and the business of writing.

Twitter Links

Postby A.R.Williams » Mon Apr 04, 2011 2:54 am

On the Kindleboards there's a post where people list their twitter handles so everyone can follow each other. I think it's a pretty good idea as it lets you keep in touch with people from the board. I have people from the KB on the main stream and in individual lists of KB users. I have one for Wotf forums too, but it only has one person in it

I thought it would be a good idea if we created such a post here too. Here's mine: http://twitter.com/a_r_williams

That said, Grayson, what does one actually do at the Kindleboards? Because I'm not sure...

Sorry, Patty, I know nothing about Kindleboards...that was A. R. who mentioned those. :)

It's a forum for all things Kindle from the different devices to the accessories to books. There is a very helpful author community of self-published authors and/or traditionally published authors that discusses all sorts of self-publishing topics: covers, marketing & promotion, prices, etc. If you ever want to self-publish any work, it's a good place to introduce yourself and learn from other people who have already done so.

I'll have to let the publisher of the e-book anthology I'm in know about Kindleboards. She's a kindle user, but I've not heard her mention it before...

Didn't have room for the "r" at the end, so that's not a typo! :)

I'm still pretty new at it myself, but it's fun once you start getting the hang of it.

Lump me in the "too lazy to tweet" category, but I'm @thestripedone (for reasons best left unsaid, because they are trite and boring).

A zebra?

A zonkey? (A tisket, a tasket?)

Edit: okay, I was only joking but...
Wikipedia wrote:A zonkey is a cross between a zebra and a donkey. "Zonkey" is not the technically correct name for such a cross. The most commonly accepted terms are zebonkey (or zebronkey), zebrinny, zebrula, zebrass, and zedonk (or zeedonk). Another name that is sometimes used is "zebadonk". Donkeys are closely related to zebras and both animals belong to the horse family. Zonkeys are very rare. In South Africa, they occur where zebras and donkeys are found in proximity to each other. Like mules, however, they are generally genetically unable to breed, due to an odd number of chromosomes disrupting meiosis.

Who knew? Zebonkadonk!

I was going to ask if it referred to a zebra/donkey, but I figured I was stretching it too much. Guess not!
