Constantly infuriating, imo, but always insightful and entertaining, I suppose. And an interesting "contrarian" as so many of the obits phrase it.

Hitchens was one of the loudest voices of reason, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. I am absolutely crushed, but unsurprised at his passing. He looked death in the face until the very end was ever unrepentant. He will be missed.

Leo Dillon, who with his wife and longtime collaborator, Diane, was one of the world’s pre-eminent illustrators for young people, producing artwork — praised for its vibrancy, ecumenicalism and sheer sumptuous beauty — that was a seamless amalgam of both their hands, died on Saturday in Brooklyn. He was 79.

When I was knee nigh high to a grass hopper and all that I loved these books. They were one of the ones that got me to love reading so much. Looks like there may have been some I missed.
