For me the obvious ones are:

* Hybrid authors are doing best
* It's not easy to make a living from your writing (so perseverance is key)
* The Long Tail is still in effect

I followed the link and read the information about the survey.
I like the software for e-subbing.
I'll add that to my list of possibilities.
