What did you publish in 2015?

Postby s_c_baker » Thu Dec 31, 2015 2:57 pm

In what I will readily admit is a self-serving move, I thought I'd start a thread where people can list their publications for the year.

I have a post with my 2015 publishing highlights on my blog, if anyone wants to take a look. (I told you it was self-serving!)

Seriously, though, I know a lot of people around here have published some great stuff this year. Share! Share!

It's been a good year. Let's see:

Original Fiction:

"Beneath the Raven's Wing" in Fantasy Scroll Magazine, October 2015
"At Apocalypse's Edge" in Every Day Fiction, September 2015
"The Cormorant in the Glass-bottomed Cage" in Flash Fiction Online, May 2015
"Like a Lover's Hands" in Every Day Fiction, April 2015
"A Taste of Cinnamon" in Fireside Magazine, March 2015
"Dragonfly's First Flight" in Cricket Magazine, February, March, and April 2015
"Blink Twice" in Perihelion Science Fiction, January 2015

Reprint Fiction (including podcasts):

"Quarantine Summer" on StarShipSofa, December 2015
"The Underground" in EGM: Shorts, November 2015
"Kindle My Heart" in Dragons, Droids & Doom: Year One, November 2015
"Life Out of Harmony" in 1st & Starlight, July 2015

I'm in the happy position of needing to get more stories written, because I'm starting to run low on submission fodder. wotf008

A Mary Shelley Moment (micro) in Fine Linen, January
Horses Not Included (flash) in Freeze Frame Fiction, Experimental Issue
Things Beneath Our Feet (flash) in Freeze Frame Fiction, YA Issue
Don't Talk to the Robots (flash) in Plasma Frequency, Anti-Apocalypse Issue

All but 2 of these are free to read online.

My humble contribution to this thread:

"Adroit" in the Theian Journal.

My list is short, but I'm proud of it. It's my first sale. More to come.

It should certainly count. Indie publishing is a lot of hard work. Nice job! wotf010

"INCI" Written with Mike Resnick (Available through Phoenix Picks)
"Calming the Tempest" (A shared world project) Galaxy's Edge
"Department of Death Predictions, Final Notice" UFO4
I also was nominated for the Golden Heart (which is Romance Writers of America's equivalent to the Campbell Award).

I have four other acceptances pending, maybe this year? I don't know.

This year, like the last few years, I've been focusing on novel writing. And I'm running out of short stories to submit!!

I had a humble 3 publications in 2015, but my first ever for speculative fiction. :)

And The Ends of the Earth For Thy Possession -- Giganotosaurus, July 2015 http://giganotosaurus.org/2015/07/

The Witch's Curse --1st & Starlight [the anthology collecting stories by WOTF Finalist and Winning authors], July 2015 https://www.amazon.com/1st-Starlight-Sky-McKinnon-ebook/dp/B011M75EBO?ie=UTF8&ref_=asap_bc

Lirazel's Heart -- Robotica: The Real Relationships of Artificial Lifeforms [anthology], October 2015
https://www.amazon.com/Robotica-Real-Relationships-Artificial-Forms/dp/1518712274

I've another 3 (potentially 4) publications in 2016, including my first professional sale to Galaxy's Edge #19, with a story co-written with the gracious and talented Kary English. Both my WOTF Finalist stories will, at last, be in print. :) Time to make more.

Respectfully,
Dr. Bob
