wotf006
Three years ago I got my first publishing break when Stewart pointed out this particular call, which I went on to co-win. Only fair for me to remind everyone it's that time again.

200 words on the one word prompt CHANGE. Deadline 7 March.

200 words on change...hmm. wotf018
My entry for the "Elements" theme didn't win, though it ended up selling elsewhere as my first pro-sale, so before I make this post longer than the actual contest entry...on to writing it!
Thanks, Ishmael!

I will be giving it a go. I seem to be doing a touch better with micro stories anyway and they are fun.

One little problem I have three little ideas in three different genre.

I've never tried writing flash fiction before... Perhaps I should give it a try!

I read through the previous contest results and I have to say, I'm impressed. Every one of those entries was amazing.

So two more days.

I should be able to do one tomorrow.

An older story that was a twitter tale. Only a bit longer without worrying about number of characters or spaces.

Okay I sent something. With two openings for me I probably won't get in though.

But at least mine is SF.

For some strange reason I thought it didn't matter so I redid my twitter story as I said earlier but before I sent it I saw what they wanted. Duh. So did one based on another twitter tale.

Anyone know of any other markets that want micro stories?

The Grinder is awesome for finding story markets. You can search with your word count ans genre and it pops up all the markets that will take it. It's kind of amazing... wotf022

You can try Fantastic Stories of the Imagination. (I sold them a rejected AE Micro story.)

Just because I'm bored and obsessively looking at all my submissions on the Grinder...for those who have followed this contest in previous years, does anyone know when in April they announce the results? wotf007

Last year it was April 7, or at least that is when I recorded my rejection on The Grinder. They don't actually send out rejections, just announce the winners on their website if I remember correctly.

The wait is getting long enough that I'm reduced to just imagining some happy campers sitting on good news, waiting for the announcement.

Yeah, I wonder what's taking them so long. I've been doing a lot of waiting lately, just about all of my Grinder entries are orange, some red.
