Hi Fellow Forumites,
I wanted to tell you all about a new publication a couple friends and I have decided to put up. We are all aspiring authors with a few credits to our names, so we decided to become part of the conversation about what constitutes good fiction. And since I've been a professional writer and editor in the science, technology, and medical fields for well over a decade, I decided to give this a shot.
Our publication is a quarterly online magazine called Empyreome (http://empyreome.com
), which you might have already seen on The Grinder or Duotrope. We are planning our first issue for January 2017, and we also plan to publish a single flash piece each week beginning in January.
We don't pay much right now ($0.0025/word), but we're just getting started. If you'd like to submit something, you can check out our guidelines at http://empyreome.com/submissions.aspx
. Please mention that you're a WotF Forumite in your cover letter.
Since we opened submissions just over two weeks ago, we've already received 48 submissions, of which we've selected 4 short stories for the January 2017 issue (there's still room for more!) and 5 flash stories for our Weekly Flash series (always room for more!). We're looking forward to more great stories in the weeks and months to come.
