Re: Success!
Thought I'd share some good news. In the past couple of days I've had two stories picked up for publication. "Poultry" will appear in the February 2013 issue of Twisted Dreams Magazine, and "Illegal" written with Pete Aldin will appear in the August 2012 issue of Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine.
Also have a story shortlisted with the Extreme Planets Anthology, "Maelstrom."

Congratulations Kevin. As for "Poultry," the Gator is now demanding to be fed. That would be a light snack before she stomps off to eat the chief executive of British Telecom. We've been without a telephone/Internet all afternoon as they are digging up the line again.

Yes, I think that's it among other things. No phone on a Thursday... not good.

*Cough* Um, well, don't forget I lose Internet as well as telephone. Whatever I get I wouldn't have got it today if it had come out.
Though the e-mail would have kept, a missed phone call on the other hand...

Of course I'm just being silly, there's no way my story will warrant a phone call.

Thanks, everyone. Definitely going to be a week I'll never forget. Of course there were a couple of rejection notices in there just for good measure!

Nice work, Kevin. Congratulations.
I did notice that one in my duotrope refreshes, (as I have a story there in round 3 at the moment) but I didn't recognise your name from the forums...
cheers
Steve

Re: Success!
Nice story, Dustin!!
I have a 'partial success' bit of news to share! I got an email from Daily Science Fiction this evening, informing me that I made it to the second round with my 1900 word short story.
It's my first 'second round' email, so I'm quite pleased, even if it turns out that it is rejected.

*Clears throat* Ok, back into business mode. Now, I too have a story slated for inclusion in Tom's second volume of Mirror Shards. I wrote it specifically for the anthology, so I'm thrilled he liked it.
Can I add my little guy

I also wrote specifically for Mirror Shards Volume2, and it is my first short fiction sold, so I am rapt to be included. Much yay all around!
