Thanks Jeanette, Tina, Austin, and Ember! I'll feel much better when this contest is OVER for real - which should be 11 AM Central time tomorrow/today. Then, even though I may lose despite having more likes and readcasts, I can get away from a contest that didn't tell me they were going to decide via social media. wotf002

I do appreciate the exposure and all, and I look forward to the interviews, I just wish they'd been a little more upfront about how this was all going to go down, you know? But I'm in a better place than I was a couple days ago.

And congrats to Rebecca and Alistair! The Duotrope Penumbra cover makes me happy every time I see it on Duotrope because Rebecca's name is splashed all over it! wotf006

It's publication day for me, which I completely forgot about until I saw my own story in my e-mail box from Every Day Fiction. Surprise to me! The story is right here, if you'd like a small dose of SF with your coffee this morning: http://www.everydayfiction.com/caged-by ... ell-hicks/

I have received an acceptance for a novelette at the Grantville Gazette Universe Annex. This will be my first SFWA qualifying sale. It should appear in the January or March issue.

The story began life during last year's October Madness that Tina and I did together.
