Here is the link to my story that came out today: Today I Am Nobody (http://www.galaxysedge.com/n4.htm) published in Galaxy's Edge

Read it. Loved it! Haunting and beautifully written. And that title! Today you are somebody! Congratulations! wotf009

From the Deorc Enterprise/Dark Expanse forum:
We are happy to announce that we have accepted Alex Kane's story called "Loud, for All the Stars to Hear."

We will be adding Alex's story as a discoverable item within the game at some time in the future.

So it sounds like my story will serve as a kind of in-game Easter Egg.

This makes my geek-self very happy, although it would've been nice to have the story available to the public in some sense. On the bright side, anyone who's ever both (a) wanted to read an Alex Kane story, and (b) master an MMO real-time strategy game set in a galaxy-spanning space opera universe, now has the perfect opportunity.

Dear Sir,

I am delighted to inform you of my first publication in more than a decade. I submitted 4,000 words to The Times, and my work has been accepted.

The published version is thus:

Bring back National Service.

Dear Editor,

It's time these namby-pamby long-haired louts joined a man's army and really learned some discipline.

Strong
Upper Longstocking.
West Albionshire

Of course they trimmed it somewhat, but that seems to be what editors do these days. Back in my day any editor who dared to cut my words would have had to have watched his back.

Yours sincerely,

Brigadier Sir Charles Arthur Strong (Mrs.)

p.s. - I've just sent another letter to the Editor of The Daily Telegraph. I shall keep you informed.
1 x Bronze Swimming Medallion
2 x Grade 3 "Student of the month" (Upper Longstocking Primary School)
4 x '180' badge (The P.O.W.s Darts Team)

I had a story accepted in Bards & Sages Quarterly. :D It'll be in the October issue.

It was my first WOTF entry -- which earned an HM. I received a rewrite request, did the rewrite after Viable Paradise, and then it was accepted.

So don't give up on those stories!

Thanks guys! Congrats to you Krystal as well! :D

Alex: I wrote it in 2005. Ignored it for years. Started submitting it in 2009. Revised it in 2012 after hitting the pro markets. It's a favorite for sure... I'm really glad someone liked it enough to buy it.
