Interesting story Preston. I kept waiting for information that would be passed to Stanley that would make him a rich man. Winners of sports games or horse races etc. It's a good story.

It would definitely be nice to make all your money when you are old and be able to spend it when you are young.

Goodness. Take your eyes off this thread for a couple of days and everybody sells a story!

So, to Stewart (again!) Preston, George, Karen and Bob wotf010

Does this Forum contain some talent or what?

Like George I'm still waiting for publication news from Sci Phi. The acceptance to publication delay is tantalising but considerably less stressful than awaiting the outcome of a longstanding submission.

I would agree, up to a point. Both my MSJ sale and my new BSQ sale had an expected 6-7 months' lag between acceptance and publication, and that has been tolerable. What's mildly unsettling about Sci Phi Journal is that there's not even an estimate for publication date or even the issue on which the story will appear.

Oh well, let's just hope for the best. wotf008

Let me give you my experiences
1stage: Acceptance with notation he wanted to use it in a future issue, not details which one.(Jan 28 2015)
2stage: waiting with a false alarm (No word except he sent out a batch of rejections and accidentally included my story. sorted out quickly w apologies.)
3rd stage; notification of issue number w table of contents (May 156 2015)
4th stage: Contracts June 14
5th stage: Payment June 19
6th stage: Proofing the galley June 20

Getting a balanced issue together is not the easiest job in the world, I expect. He will need to spread the content over different areas of philosophical enquiry just as Dave wants to spread the WotF annual over various genres. Then there is the matter of how many of the acceptees are willing for the their stories to appear in the anthology instead of the magazine. At least we still have something to look forward to, George, and it looks as though things do move reasonably swiftly once they actually start to move. Thanks for the information, Bob.
