Congrats everyone!
I myself recently got published on 365Tomorrows and made my first paid sale on Theme of Absence for their November issue! I got a whole 3 dollars for it, which is a pittance--but I'll gladly trade beer for writing.

Jeeon,
Getting paid to write = getting paid to write.
My first paycheck was also three bucks. I took it as a sign of humble beginnings.

And here's a new story from me!
My first piece of humor ever published.

I hope you like it anyway.

Nice work! I remember 365Tomorrows from when I first started writing. Had no idea they were still going. :)

Congrats jeeohn, Dustin!
I just received my first pro-level acceptance. Nature Futures! This was on my bucket list because as a former scientist I really want to be able to say I was published in Nature

Re: Success!
So, what's the usual over / under on the "Under Review" status for Asimov's? I've never lasted longer than 15 minutes in that stage, but I've had a story sitting there since around 9:30 last night. I figured it was late, readers went home, and fully expected a form rejection this morning, but...nothing yet. It's almost noon, and I find my mind getting my hopes up.
Are they based in the UK? Is this normal? Can I safely assume it made it past the slush pile, at least? The anticipation is killing me!

I suppose a simple Google search would have worked, but my brain wasn't working earlier this morning.

In addition, I had another piece accepted for publication, this time in the November issue of Five on the Fifth, due to appear on Nov. 5th! Non-paying, but the story is two years old and had already run the gauntlet of pro / semi-pro markets, so I don't feel too bad about it; just glad it's out there. :D
