It seems I missed book three here, but anyway. :)

Here's the info on book three and four of The Dashkova Memoirs.

Birds of Prophecy

http://thomaskcarpenter.com/2015/05/26/birds-of-prophecy-the-dashkova-memoirs-3/

Image

Katerina Dashkova must die.

When Warden Simon Snyder seeks Kat’s help to solve a bloodless murder, she becomes entangled with a prophecy that predicts her death on the Winter Solstice. The investigation turns an old friend into a dangerous enemy, complicates loyalties, and creates a mystery so deep that Kat will have to expose herself to ultimate betrayal to solve it. Even if she does, the question remains: Can she save Philadelphia from an ancient evil?

The Franklin Deception

http://thomaskcarpenter.com/2015/06/13/the-franklin-deception-the-dashkova-memoirs-4/

Image

When Thomas Jefferson’s longtime companion is murdered with dark magic, Katerina Dashkova and Ben Franklin must find the killer before the war-hungry Federalists learn the truth and use it to maneuver America into a war with Russia. Unfortunately, the unknown assassin isn’t the only one causing trouble: a certain rusalka with a magical hold on Kat’s future has made an impossible demand that will test her loyalty to her new country to its very limits.

The books can be found on Amazon in ebook or paperback form. :)

For anyone that is curious, I recently read the first book of Tomas K. Carpenter's series and I loved it. Check out the sample, it has a really great strong opening and at that price you can't go wrong.

I think his covers are great too.

I would almost want to compare his to my Latest But,I,Still, Haven't,Figured Out,How To, Post, A Pic!!!!!

(clears throat) but I think his are even better than mine.

In either case I want to read the first one but he's going to have to wait to get my most excellent review of his novel I'm afraid. And sorry to say.

So I finally decided to put a book up on Amazon. I've heard a lot of people say that short stories' ebook sales are practically non-existent, even people who make lots of ebook sales say that it's novels that make the money. But I decided to do it anyway to familiarize myself with the procedure, since it cost me nothing anyway. Also, it's still available at QuarterReads for a much cheaper price -- giving alternatives to the customer is always nice! wotf007

Also, it's very nice to see your name in a book cover - even an ebook cover. I've seen a lot of my name in book covers of course, but only in Greek - seeing it in English for the first time makes me feel more like an international author wotf001

Anyway, here it is: A Rise To The Surface - A Martian Short Story.

Here's the cover:
Image

And here's the product description:
Stargazer is a young Martian, frustrated with the sluggishness of his dwindling race and obsessed with the Blue Planet he watches from afar. When astronauts appear suddenly on his planet's surface, he only wishes to meet them; but before he can begin his lonely climb to the surface --forever altering the fate of his world-- he needs the guidance and the blessing of the two people he cares most about.

What do you think?

I put together a collected edition of all my stories published prior to 2015. It's available for preorder at Barnes & Noble, iBooks, and Kobo. Right now, you can get it for a special preorder price of $1.99. When it releases on November 15th, the price will increase to its regular $2.99. If you want a preview, two of the stories--"Nothing Altered" (fantasy) and "Konstantin" (scifi)--are free on Smashwords.

Image

As a side note, the preorder system at Smashwords is kind of strange. The buyer can't actually preorder from Smashwords--just their retailer network. And this detail isn't very obvious when you go to set up a preorder, which caused me to initially direct potential readers to Smashwords for the preorder. I just thought I would pass that along as an FYI, in case anyone else is considering preorders on Smashwords.

Keep forgetting to say that I bought your story collection and a few others while I was at it.

I was trying to get over $10 to make it worth using a card. Ended up using my pay pal account instead.

I have not been on for some time, sorry, multiple family crisis situations. Also, I have been on a tireless quest to find an illustrator who will work on commission vs. requiring immediate payment. In both regards I can report success. I have done some research and am working through the Draft2digital site and not Smashwords for my collection of short stories. One of the stories was previously submitted to this contest and was rejected, I wrote two more (working on the last for a total of four) with the same characters. It will most likely total 260 to 270 pages in all. Final editing, illustrations and other aspects required before epub to be completed within the next quarter (July). I will try to get on here a bit more often in the future, I have truly missed the discourse on this forum. Just to inform folks once I do upload my ebook it be available for the low low price of .99c wotf007

Attention forumites:

Finished reading the new anthology already and interested in more stories? Now's your chance.
From now until June 3, you can pick up the ARC (Advanced Reading Copy) of a new anthology I've edited of some fellow WotF folks (including yours truly) for free from instafreebie.com .

Click the link and it will ask you for your name and e-mail. Then it will send you a file of your choosing. epub, mobi, etc.

The antho goes live on Amazon tomorrow, so if you want to support the writers that way, that's awesome. If you want a free copy to review, that's awesome. If you just want free stories, that's awesome, too!

Several of the stories were finalists, so I'll be posting an update in the "where to find finalists" thread tomorrow.

One note about the ARC. Sometimes the cover doesn't display properly in Kindle. It does in epub, and on Kindle for PC. Just some mobile Kindles...

Otherwise, enjoy!

Hello. My username is Guthington. My pen name was going to be Jamie Lee Guthington, but I've settled on L. A. Patrick instead. I don't post much here. Mainly because I'm too much of a newb to know what's what. I did attend one of Orson Scott Card's bootcamps several summers ago and learned tons. Anyway, I published my first book (with a small indie press so no control over book price) last October and am a long way to selling enough books to "pro-out" of the contest. I've lurked on this forum a bit and am amazed by your chatter. My Amazon author page link is: http://www.amazon.com/L.-A.-Patrick/e/B016PEL69S. Feel free to find me on twitter: lapatrickwriter
