Buffet sounds good. Does it have a name?

The name of the restaurant is Houlihan's, it is a sport bar kind of place in Illinois enter, Houlihan's faces Michigan ave. My wife and I had breakfast there this morning. Service was slow but for 10 bucks it was a good deal.

Doh. That would explain why I didn't see you. I walked around and looked all over the restaurant and when I didn't see anyone I recognized, I headed back up to write for a bit.
We'll have to try again later!
And for today's panel's, I think I'm going to:
10:30 - Short Fiction Scene (Shelia Williams)
12:00 Designing Book Covers
4:30 Wild Cards (George RR Martin)
Otherwise I'm playing it by ear. Plans seem to change quickly around here depending on who you run into!

I think I saw you! Back from Chicon; sad to miss Monday, but was lucky to make it at all. Didn't take a laptop (haven't replaced the one that died after NC) so couldn't check the forum. Didn't see anything on the message board, so no partying for me.

I didn't eat much since I was back to back with sessions. Stalked a couple editors. Silverberg is a hoot! Ben Bova has such presence. Loved the session on climate change. I was at a lot of the science things... kinda renewed my interest in a couple of stories I had abandoned on the very issues they were discussing. Think maybe I'll dust them off and give them a facelift. My hubby hauled me off kicking and screaming... "gotta go to the longevity session!!!"
sigh. Wish I could have gotten together with you all.
(HA! Silverton is a train. Tells you how tired I was after the drive!)

Re: Chicon 7
OK, WotFers, what are we doing in Chicago today? The programming is pretty slim (except for you in the World Building sessions), so maybe we should meet up.

Sounds like you all are having fun...without me.
I've said this one two other threads and I should have said this a week ago but since there still might be time say hi to any editors you can talk to for me. A few should know my name by now.

Exhausted, elated, and thankfully--home. Was a fantastic time with a bunch of amazing people. Will do a longer report on Worldcon later, but for now I'm just trying to recover from the trip.

Re: Chicon 7
It was a fantastic worldcon and I loved meeting fellow WotFers! I skpped out on programming on monday and my sweetie-wife and I and a friend went to the Science and Tach museum and that was great. (Saw the U-505, Apollo 8, and Mercury Capsule.)
I too got energized for new stories and a couple of fallow ones.
Safe trips for those still about to travel!

A word to the wise: resist the temptation to start a campfire on the living room floor and make s'mores.
Oh dear. I need a signature.

Here's a (rough, meandering) blog post I just published on my overall first-con experience, if anyone's interested: http://alexkanefiction.com/my-first-worldcon-a-recap/
Doesn't do the experience justice, but I haven't been in writer-mode since, well, the beginning July . . . Gonna have to remedy that soon, or spontaneously combust.
