As I mentioned a week or so ago, I’ll be writing a new weekly column over at the newly revamped Amazing Stories blog. Not only is it an honor to be working with the latest incarnation of the world’s very first science fiction magazine, but I’m also thrilled at the opportunity to write about science fiction, fantasy, and horror (geek culture) films for a growing audience.
My first article, “All Your Rebel Base Are Belong to Us: In Defense of J. J. Abrams,” went live this morning. Every time you share the link, a baby kitten-rocketeer gets its jetpack.
Success!

Re: Success!
Forgive me for popping back onto the forum after too long an absence just to make a bragpost, but I can't help it. The March/April issue of F&SF, containing my story "The Long View," is now on sale. I had to see it at a newsstand with my own eyes, before I could be sure the whole thing wasn't a cruel hoax by Gordon Van Gelder.

It's more because Canada is SO TERRIBLY INTERESTING.

Hey, there's snow, hockey, and Canadians there. And mooses. (Meese?)
Re: Success!
Thanks, Alex, for being willing to defend the awesomeness that is Canada. We also have poutine (which I still can't believe we Americans didn't invent first, being as it is made purely of delicious foods guaranteed to give you a heart attack - french fries, gravy, and cheese curds), and Tim Hortons. And yeah, lots of snow. Too much snow.
I have to admit, I'm starting to miss Houston.

Uh. Not to unwittingly steer this topic back on track, but:
1) Toasted Cake is a podcast.
2) My story "Sapience and Maternal Instincts" was accepted as a reprint.
3) Yay!

I've got no idea. I probably shouldn't have posted about it yet, but I was excited.
