I guess the COSMOS publication dates are variable, because mine is available now, 2 days before its scheduled appearance. (Or maybe 1 day, depending on how far of a time gap there is between here and AUS--can't remember)

You can read it here, if you're so inclined: http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/cosmos_online/behind-the-first-years/

Do I want to fight it out as to who sold the most mediocre story to COSMOS? wotf019

This is like the "meta-fiction meta-off" I recently had with a writer friend. We decided that whoever won actually lost, because it meant their story was least likely to sell. wotf019

A most interesting story, Stewart. It has so many possibilities, I wonder if you see it as a potential novel? I could easily see this as one of a series of episodes after the manner of 'Foundation'.

I've been sitting on a certain announcement until things were official. I'm thinking the link below qualifies. wotf006

I am delighted to announce that my first pro sale, a sci-fi story called "Flight of the Kikayon," will be appearing in the Universe Annex section of July's Grantville Gazette.

The issue is currently in ARC status, so you can read about half of the story now, with the rest available when the issue goes live in two weeks.

This was my non-winning Q4 finalist from V. 29.

What's funny is that I did a google image search for "Sam Hidaka."

The first actual photo I got is one of Cherry (her WotF forum icon). The second actual photo I got is one of Martin (also hosted on WotF, though it's not his icon.)

Yes, Paula Goodlett is another one of the top editors there. Sam told me he wanted the story, but Paula and Eric both had to sign off for the sale to be considered official.
