There's also a WAIOTF panel at 2. Many of the same crowd will be there (but without the beer).

Well it's after 2 now and I'm still at work, so... I am hoping to make the party but not sure yet. I still haven't even had time to look over the Con schedule and see what events I'd want to make. I'm a LOSER man, a Loser! wotf005

Then in an effort to get best husband of the year moments before the year's end, my husband runs my entry down to the all night post service.

Still haven't heard if it worked or if the post will say "DEC 31st" And after three rejections it all feels silly to make a big deal over this entry, but I liked it and I believe in it for now. It's the best I could do at this moment in time.

Here's to a new year and a resolution to not procrastinate in the future.

ETA: Funny that BC (before children) I had all my papers done weeks in advance, turned them in early and often volunteered to give presentations first. What has happened to me?

OMG, I love this. And yes, I AM reading the whole thread. You convinced me.

You do realize, I hope, that this puts a lot more pressure on you. Now you have to win so that you can tell this story in your acceptance speech!

Happy new year to you and nerdy husband and beloved child!

This thread has more comments than the entire category "Publishing: The Business Of". More, in fact, than any but two categories.

Even Gator can't kill this thread, and we know how scary Gator is!

Noooo no no noooo. Gator has tried to kill this thread many times. (This is the dreaded hold pile quarter after all, in which we sat for months longer than anyone else, expecting at least an HM, but ended up with a form rejection). If Gator saw someone actually succeeding in killing the thread I'm sure she would have cheered him on.

At least Kitty is preoccupied over at the Q3 thread. I don't think this place could handle another alternate persona.
