Has anyone heard recently from Lore?
I see they published in April. Their website still gives a response to submissions of up to 90 days. Mine (auto-acknowledged back in November) is at 270 days, with no response to separate queries to each editor.
I am unsure whether to write this sub off and send the story elsewhere.

My story is at 350 days with LORE. I emailed them back in February and they asked if they could continue to hold onto it. Of course, I said yes. The longer they hold, the higher the chance of a sale.
If you're worried about them having it so long, write more stories and send them out. Then when a couple of places hold onto them for close to a year, it doesn't feel so bad. I have 23 stories out at the moment, so I have near zero feelings about any one specific one, even if I know it's on final decision.

Twenty-three stories? You, sir, are where I soon hope to be.

I had close to thirty out earlier in the year, but then I sold a bunch of them. A good problem to have.

Re: Lore
I've heard that that's a great way to motivate yourself: get into a friendly competition with others (or yourself) to see who can have the most submissions out at a time. At first, it's a race to see who can write the most stories, but then you start to "lose" because they're actually selling ... definitely a problem I'd like to trade up for!

Same experience as Tom here. I'm at 345 days, queried in January and got that same response. I'll probably query when my story turns a year old, since I'm not doing anything else with it.

Mine turns one year in eight days! Should I get it a birthday present?

Re: Lore
I seem to be making a habit of this, but it appears another one bites the dust. http://lore-online.com/
I decided to check when my submission turned a year old. This story has not had a happy experience of submission. I wrote it for Penumbra's Gaslight edition and it disappeared without trace or response. I then tried Lore.
Since the story has now closed two publishing houses, how much are people willing to pay me not to send it out again?
