Rejection.
Wasn't expecting much from this story, so not really surprised.

Rejection. This one stunned me. I got an honorary mention in Q1 on a much weaker story. Ah well. Back to the writing table.
Re: Quarter 3, Writers and Illustrators of the Future vol. 3
Also R, also a stronger story than my recent HM.

A first-wave R for me. This one had structural problems (notably no climax) so I'm not surprised. It was also a setting I think Dave is on record as saying he disliked, so no surprises here.

Hmm, I still haven't heard anything back, and I got the acknowledgment of receipt of my entry on May 1. Good sign or bad?

Hi there Chuuluu, how's things? No news is at the very least not bad news, but most people asking this question are down below jabbering.

HM.
Happy snappy with that, it was better than I hoped -- I don't like this story much. I certainly didn't expect any more from it than an HM.

HM!
Am pleased. Didn't expect more with this one, actually thought it would be R because of its subversive-to-the-mainstream-political-correctness implications.

Re: Quarter 3, Writers and Illustrators of the Future vol. 3
I'm happy to be back with an Honorable Mention. I haven't placed even there since before the last quater with KD, so to me it's a good sign that I can at least hold David Farland's attention enough to read through the story.

Re: Quarter 3, Writers and Illustrators of the Future vol. 3

This was my 24th entry to the contest (haven't missed a quarter since I started) and is the only time my story has reached this high.
This is the same story that got shortlisted by Neil Clarke (but ultimately rejected) for Neil Clarke's Upgraded anthology. I'm hoping it will sell somewhere big after those two near-misses.
