I'll be attending and participating on a panel! :)
Fantasy and the Reality of Law Enforcement
Description: Real-life law-enforcement workers discuss how fantasy fiction portrays law enforcement and compares those practices to real-world law enforcement. They talk about what works in stories and what is really fantasy, where fiction differs from reality. In discussing such works as The City and The City (China Mieville), Finch (Jeff Vandermeer), London Falling (Paul Cornell), and Servant of Empire (Raymond Feist), they contrast the real and the fantasy worlds of law enforcement.
The time and room may change again, but right now it's scheduled for Thursday the 6th from 9:30-10:30pm in Regency F.
