I have read all those books more than once. Watched the movies too.
I have the Dune video so I can watch at my leisure.

Read all the Dune books by end of high school and I've seen the David Lynch Dune movie too many times to count, though it's been ages since I watched it.

Glad you enjoy it, Emily. If I remember correctly, it's from one of Twain's essays... I read it over a decade ago and have been using the quote for my signature ever since.
morshana wrote:How can flowers sulk? By wilting?
Actually, Peony is my Hobbit name (it's a not-so-long story that involves old friends, teenage Tolkien obsessions and online name generators). I used to go by the username Disgruntled Hobbit because the concept amused me, but a lot of sites have a 15-character username limit so I just started going by Disgruntled Peony instead.
Btw, disgruntledpeony is 16 characters

I've read the Hobbit but it was a struggle. I'd already read The Lord of The Rings and I loved it, and after that the Hobbit seemed childish and boring. On the contrary, I was totally thrilled by The Silmarillion.
I've seen all the LOTR and Hobbit movies. The Hobbit is one of the rare cases I like the movie much better than the book.

A 16-character limit, then.

And since today is Thursday for many of us, we're stuck in a parallel universe where every day is Thursday and never any results.
Of course, being in this parallel universe, we *think* there are other days of the week, but really, they're all just Thursday.
So, really, results could be any day, even Saturday or Sunday. Everything has changed. But then again, if we're stuck in the parallel universe of disguised Thursdays, we never get results. So I hope today isn't really Thursday and we're in the universe that gets results.
From the infamous Q1 29 thread, when Thursdays ceased to exist and Every Day Became Thursday.

That original post from four years ago was on June 7th, a THURSDAY. And today is July 7th, a Thursday. A month off, but close enough!
Can't believe that was 4 years ago ... Wow!
*starts digging trenches in anticipation of incoming results and wishes we could all be renamed Martin or Tim and hopes Kary will bring the marshmallows again and realizes these are faded memories, but the nostalgia is strong, strong I say!*

And you might wonder how many of those people from yesteryear are still writing. Still believe that they can succeed.
For there is death in the sound of it, and a glamorous fatality, like silver pennons downrushing at sunset, or a dying fall of horns along the road to Ronceveaux.
The only easy day was yesterday.

Then it would reach 5001 because someone would comment about reaching 5000 in which case we would be compelled to reach 6000 which would imply 6001 and so on and so forth. Better to just stop at 4999 as an exercise in restraint if nothing else.
