Congratulations to Emily, George, Philip, and HL. Hooray for successes!
I have a new one to report, too. Simple Things, a sci-fi flash, out today in Nature Magazine's Futures feature.
This is my third appearance in Nature, and it's always such a cool feeling. I'm in a science journal! How in the heck did that happen?

Awesome! I'm still getting my year free subscription so I'll be able to read your story in print. I need to write something else for them soon so I can keep my subscription going (ha, like it's that easy.)

This cannot go in any other thread...
So I searched the name of my DSF story "These are the Rules of Being a Hero" and found that someone decided to narrate the story and put it up on YouTube. It is gorgeous. This guy has an amazing voice.
Seriously, it's only a few minutes long. Listen...

Re: Success!
Congrats, Rebecca! I've always wanted to submit to Nature, but my stories don't seem scientific enough.
Also, congrats, Emily! That was nice!
As for me, I just had my 20th acceptance (12 so far in 2016), namely another reprint to AntipodeanSF -- which also podcasts the stories. Well, I also like having my stories narrated.

Re: Success!
I haven't posted in a while. Congrats to all Winners (and Finalists) YTD.
I'm still averaging only 2 submissions a year to WOTF, an HM and an R this time.
I did have two recent publications, both which pay pro but are not SFWA approved, so I can still dabble with WOTF if I wish.
Of Thine Impenetrable Spirit, my 2nd WOTF Finalist story (Q1 2014), a novelette, was published in the anthology Mysterion: Rediscovering the Mysteries of the Christian Faith on 21 AUG 2016. I know, a nice Jewish boy like me? Who knew I could sneak this one in? https://www.amazon.com/Mysterion-Redisc ... B01IX1PY58
Laila Tov (formerly Erev Tov), a twice WOTF Reject but seemingly one of my better loved stories by the small circle of authors and editors (even Tor!) who read it, was published this week at the subscription webzine Cosmic Roots and Eldritch Shores. It only took 20 submissions ( oy! ). The story is illustrated (a first for me)! I've the one I like best up at my FB page, for any with interest: https://www.facebook.com/robertbfinegol ... 78334845:0 CRES also did a marvelous job in its on-line presentation. The story text scrolls over background images and colors matched to each scene in the story. It is like a picture book that moves. I am quite pleased with the result. http://cosmicrootsandeldritchshores.com/
I think that will be it from me for a bit. I hope to get a story into WOTF next year but, for the first time in five years, I do not think I'll make Q1.
Best to everyone.
Respectfully,
Dr. Bob

As for me, I just sold two reprints to Sky Castles anthology, which makes it 14 this year and it's still October. Isn't it lovely? I hope I sell at least one more in the next couple of months!

My story First of Frost which was pubbed back in July is now free to read online. Also, Lackington's usually has great artwork paired with their stories and this issue was no exception. Particularly love the illo for mine (also viewable at link)

Congrats, Beth and HL!
As for me, it's becoming surreal, but I had another sale. 15th this year, compared with last year's 5 and 2014's 2.
This one was another drabble (the second one sold), to Helios Quarterly Issue 2 where I will share a TOC with HL Fullerton.
Incidentally, that was my fourth "pro-rates" sale (Helios Quarterly is actually a pro market for drabbles only!), although I still haven't a single WOTF-disqualifying one

Congratulations to George (holy moly, you are having a heck of a year!), Aaron, Dr. Bob, Beth, and HL. This thread is hopping and that makes me so excited!
I've just recently had two more stories come out:
Boys' Night is a Halloween-themed short story podcast by Cast of Wonders, about father-son bonding and a creepy pumpkin farm.
"My Secret Thorns" is a disturbing piece of almost-flash available in Silent Screams: An Anthology of Socially Conscious Dark Fiction. It's available now as a Kindle book, and should be coming out in paperback in a couple of weeks. Hooray for physical book! I'm excited.

I hope to see many more successes reported here in the coming days. You all are awesome.

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, hey! There's another one! "Songs in the Key of Chamomile" is now live in Galaxy's Edge! It's my first time in Galaxy's Edge, and I'm thrilled to be there.
