I've finished my draft! 8000 words but it definitely needs to marinate. Too early for anyone else's eyes yet.
I'd be happy to read yours! Let me know once you've finished :)

Q2 is well on it's way to finished, and I finished my prep file for my Q3 today!
I thought I had a Q4, but one of Dave's blogs specifically mentions that idea as being played out, so I'm trying to come up with something else. I've got some time, yet.
How's everyone else doing?

Re: Four in Thirty-Five (4 in 35!)
I made it into Q2 for once! (I was going through a winter slump, but I managed to polish up a SHM from a year or so ago. We'll see how that works.) I've already got about half a rough draft for Q3. Super excited about it right now, which means it's probably awful.
That's okay, though. The bad rough drafts are necessary so we have something to edit later.

Doing a massive rewrite of a novel I wrote (it's coming along really well!), but it's consumed the time I set aside for short story writing. Q3 *may* need to be something I'm not entirely proud of... ergh...

Re: Four in Thirty-Five (4 in 35!)
This move absolutely threw me for a loop. The unexpected chaos of it combined with the fact that the story I have in the works isn’t going well, well, I haven’t been as on top of things as usual. I may end up working on one of my HMs and submitting that instead of sending in something new. I hate to do that, but with only 6 weeks left in the quarter already, and a novel to edit for a conference...

Almost finished collecting beta reader reactions for Q3 and then it'll be a final edit before submitting.
And I just got a shiny new idea that makes me more excited that what I was previously thinking for Q4. Time to get writing!

I will have my Q3 v.2 ready in the next week if anyone is up for a swap. I'm just sitting back down to my computer after a two month hiatus, and am working hard to get it done so I have time for edits. Re: Four in Thirty-Five (4 in 35!)
I'm down for a swap if anyone is ready. Ended up writing something completely different *stares longingly at original Q3 idea outline* so the piece I'd be exchanging is a flash story at ~300 words.

I've already submitted my Q3 (really don't think it's a "Dave" story, but my results so far seem independent of my self-evaluations). But I'd be happy to look over your story. PM me. I do have a ~300-word story of my own if you want to do a swap, but you don't have to feel obligated to read in return.
