Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - Volume 35
Still waiting. Of course I had to email it in to Joni so that's what I get I guess.

Yeah, those always take the longest.

Congratulations to all the Finalists, Semi-finalists, and HMs!
Back to the drawing board for me! I’m sure it’s just due to being new at this but the R stings....hopefully that part will get easier.

When Joni calls the finalists does it show up on caller ID as private? If so, I think I may have missed the call....
Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - Volume 35
HM for my first submission! Now I can focus on Q3 in peace

It sure does. I answered an "unknown" number this afternoon hoping it was her. Grrr...

I don't usually get private calls, and when I do i usually get an automated voicemail telling me to call some bogus number. Here's hoping.

Congrats to all HM, SF and Finalists! Best of luck to everyone who hasn't heard back yet.

I'm surprised everyone is hearing back already. I'm so new to all of this I'm wondering if my submission was a different quarter or are these all for the ones that were due march 31st? What does it mean if you haven't heard anything at all yet? I turned mine in close to the last minute so are these that are hearing back today ones who just turned it in sooner? I thought I knew what Q3 Q4 meant but maybe not? haha. Sorry for all the questions any answers would be appreciated.

These were turned in by the end of December. Q2 is the one that ended March 31st.

No worries. It's confusing keeping track of Q. Plus, he jumped episodes, series, you just never knew what Trek ship Q was going to play god on.

Congrats, Sataris. There's almost always a forumite finalist, and you is it! Best of luck on placing! Congrats to everyone, including the Rs. I just had three rejections in a row. Ugh! Still, I keep entering every quarter because you never know until the results come in.

OK - So this had me going for a minute since I got a no ID call and ignored it and then saw all this and missed the email the first time I looked.
But I got a reject.
I was worried that the speculative element was too late in the story - it was supposed to be kind of a surprise but hard to do since the reader knows its speculative fiction - but I liked it and figured I'd give it a shot.
Oh well - I've got a great one started that will win for sure!!

Oh my goodness... To check in here tonight, expecting silence...
I submitted hardcopy, so I'm guessing that means I'll find out dead last!?
This wait is even worse now!
CONGRATULATIONS to the HMs, semis and finalists!
To the RS, I think I'll be joining your club. But as has already been said, submitting at all is still an accomplished feat and it's not the end!

Congratulations Satarist!!!!! I really hope you place :). And that they don’t leave you twitching for long.
Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - Volume 35
Congrats to everyone who heard back already. I was really hoping to hear something by now, because the anticipation of not knowing is killing me, whatever the response is. But I was also one of those who got locked out on December 31st and had to email my sub to Joni because I waited too long. I hope this doesn't drag on and I only have to wait a few more days.

The one time that happened to me I was behind everyone too. I think in those situations, Joni prints them out and then you enter the paper submission pile, which then ends up in delayed responses because the paper subs need to be de-anonymized and matched with an email again.

I, too, was part of the last minute crowd. My husband and I were actually in the ER that night as he had the flu and was running a high fever. When I tried to submit, it was a no go. I had to email my entry in to Joni, and later found a number of edits I had missed. I am twitching for sure!
Edit: Congrats to everyone who's heard back positive results!!! Can't believe I missed that the first time... must be the nerves!

Wow - an everything at once wave! A Super Thursday, as it were.
I think I like that as it stops me from trying to read into things to discern if there is a difference between a quick "R" and a delayed one. With enough rejections, I start looking for flavors. Today's was vanilla, I think, but I enjoyed writing it.
Congratulations to you all and your many successes!! Go Forumites!

Lesson learned there. My Q2 entry was well ahead of the deadline, and my Q3 first draft is already done. No more 11:50 PM entries for me on the last day of the deadline!

Same boat here. Realistically, whats the best we can hope for? It would seem at his point all the higher placing submissions would have been informed right? I would think all the finalists semis and silvers would have been dealt with.
I'm just hoping for an HM at this point.
