I've been following the "What's a Silver Honorable Mention..." thread over on the Contest board, and the discussion about SHMs being well positioned to be revised into finalists made me want to blow the dust off mine from a few quarters ago. I did a pretty thorough revision back then and sent it out to a few places, but I've never resubmitted a piece to WOTF before and want to try my luck. My question is: should I get the original SHM critted, so I can be sure to address whatever Dave felt was missing, or the revision, which I like better but has become a different story? Both would of course be best, but it's hard to objectively review a piece when you've already read another version of it. I'd appreciate any thoughts on which you think is a better approach, and definitely PM me if you'd be willing to take a crack at one or the other.
Thanks!
-Van

Re: Silver Honorable Mention Crits
I'd probably recommend having the new version critted, so you can see if it needs further improvement.
If a person offend you, and you are in doubt as to whether it was intentional or not, do not resort to extreme measures; simply watch your chance and hit him with a brick. ~ Mark Twain

The new one, for sure.
I'll swap SHM's with you if you can wait around 2 weeks for a reply.
