So... I've not received any "rejection" or "first pass" emails yet. Anyone else out there in the same situation?

Email Joni, she'll be happy to let you know if you're still in.

It's proper to wait for results, not to add to the coordinator's workload by checking on something like whether or not we made the first pass. We don't even know Joni's gotten through what's likely close to 2000 rejections. Patience. Professional practices begin here, and will serve everyone well when they submit to other pro markets.

I wonder if any of us will start hearing back about post-First Pass rejections before the 30th?

Given Joni’s message about not having results before the end of this quarter, I wouldn’t think so.
Feel free to put the twitching on hold for 12 days. ;)

Email Joni, she'll be happy to let you know if you're still in.
I'm not entered into Q3. BUT, I've had the same thing in past contest quarters. It all gets sorted out eventually. I think they sometimes come in batches. As others have said, Thursday will be here before anyone knows it

“Thursday” is kind of a boogeyman term referring to the day all the responses come out, which, traditionally, has usually been all at once.
I believe it comes from the fact results were released on Thursdays relatively consistently for a bit, though that hasn’t been the case for a few years now.
TL;DR:
Thursday is coming = Winter is coming

Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 35
Or, "Thursday is coming" can actually mean someone knows more results are about to come in. Or, "Thursday is coming" can actually mean that the next day will indeed be Thursday. Or, "Thursday is coming" can actually mean that one date in the unknown future, all results will be completed and winners will have been notified. Or, "Thursday is coming" can allude to the general observation that many times results have come in on Thursdays.
You decide.
You decide.

Where in AU are you? (not sure if I've asked you this before)
I've driven the east cost from the Townsville to Melbourne and then west into South AU. I even worked Buller Mt ski fields when I was younger.

Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 35
I forgot to check in here, but I got the first pass email on September 10th (I submitted on June 30th). I also just realized it's almost the end of the quarter, so I'd better get something lined up. Looks like I'm not going to achieve my goal of not submitting at the last minute this time either....

Best part of that article:
I know that at this very moment, there is probably someone who is trying to figure out how to use all of these techniques together and still write a successful opening. Please, I beg you, try to find some better use for your time.
